Mint Get in the Game with a Windows Phone App

Mint has apps for iOS, and Android. However, there are no outstanding money management apps for Windows Phone. Mint could easily fill this huge void with an amazing app that would only strengthen their customer base.

A Windows Phone Mint App is in such high demand that there is an entire thread dedicated to it on the support forums. As of right now, there are 115+ people participating in the conversation, and all you have to do if you already have a Mint account is setup a support account (roughly two clicks) and then click the “+1″ button.

Petition Microsoft to give Unity Technology Native Access

WPCentral recently reported that Unity Technology has decided not to develop their gaming engine because they won’t have access to native code. If we can get the attention of Microsoft we may be able to convince them to work with Unity Technology to develop their gaming engine. One of Microsoft’s selling points for Windows phone is that it is a great gaming platform. However, if Microsoft doesn’t give game developers the gaming engines they want they won’t develop for the platform, which is obviously a loose-loose for everyone.

What happened to Photosynth for WP7?

@ @ Where is Photosynth for WP7? Mango is released, the camera API is here! Come on! http://t.co/Bn2Sn5ds

Almost 7 months ago, Microsoft’s official Bing blog announced that Photosynth was released on iOS, and that “the Photosynth app is coming next to a Windows Phone near you”.

6 months ago, the Photosynth team stated:

Windows Phone 1.0 didn’t have the video mode API’s to allow us to provide the capture experience that everyone loves about our app…. Mango appears to have the right APIs.  We are working with them now.

Fast forward to the Mango-licious present, and there still is no Photosynth app. With the Mango developer tools being available for months, and Mango officially being released to the public over a month ago, this is ridiculous that Microsoft’s own services are neglecting Windows Phone.

Send the Photosynth team an email (photosynth@live.com) explaining that they need to release a WP7 app ASAP, since the Mango tools are now available! They promised it would be coming “soon”, yet nothing is here!

Also, tweet them (@photosynth) and make your voice be heard. Click here to retweet my message.

Skype coming in one or two months!

According to a comment by Henry XU from an article on WMPowerUser, Skype will be released for Windows Phone as a standalone app within 4 to 8 weeks from now!

Hey guys, I met some MSFT guys last wk, they said Skype has already entered RC1, only 4-8 wks from RTMing:) This is official.

A month or two is still quite awhile to wait, considering that Windows Phones in the US already have front-facing cameras, but it is reassuring to finally have a date set.

It’s interesting that Skype will be a standalone app rather than integrated into Windows Phone, but that could be because Microsoft may face antitrust issues if they bundled it, since they now own Skype.

WP7 users want to Cut the Rope too!

@ @ Why is there no WP7 version? Microsoft should release this as an Xbox Live title! http://t.co/w78tAL6T

Cut the Rope is a very popular mobile game available on iOS and Android. Windows Phone users would also love to play this game!

Send the developers an email (info@zeptolab.com), telling them how they are excluding a great market by not supporting Windows Phone. You can also tweet them (@Cut_The_Rope) or simply click the retweet button in my tweet above.

Domino’s Pizza, where are you?

@ Where in the world is Domino's Pizza for WP7? I guess I'll have to use the @ WP7 app instead... http://t.co/eRBppANS

Pizza Hut just recently released their app for WP7, allowing you to order pizzas directly from your phone’s internet connection, but Domino’s is still nowhere to be found!

Tell Domino’s that writing a WP7 app would be a great way to increase their amount of customers. Since WP7 is still a smaller platform, the Domino’s app is more likely to get noticed by WP7 users, leading to more purchases of pizza. Plus, some of Domino’s competitors like Papa Johns aren’t on WP7, so Domino’s would have a strong advantage on WP7!

Scoutmob noticing the WP7 interest, keep it up!

@ We would love a WP7 app please! You're loosing customers by not supporting us!

We just got an email from Scoutmob’s team, and they have noticed the increased desire for a Windows Phone app!

We saw that! Not exactly an inspiring response though, only seeing about 10 people talking and half of them don’t know what Scoutmob is…

What I told Scoutmob’s team in response is that WP7 has more potential to convert WP7 users into customers since the Marketplace is still small. Since there is no Living Social app on WP7, users might be more likely to try Scoutmob.

Keep up the efforts of tweeting and emailing!

Scoutmob will release an app for WP7 if enough request it!

A reader over at WMPowerUser contacted the developers of Scoutmob (a deal site similar to Groupon or LivingSocial) asking why they haven’t made an app for WP7 while they just recently released an app for Blackberry.

Their response? They don’t receive enough requests for a Windows Phone app, but they said they received tons of requests for a Blackberry app! That shows our efforts could make a difference.

Send them an e-mail (sweatervest@scoutmob.com) politely requesting that you would like an app for Windows Phone 7. With enough requests, they will truly see how important WP7 is. I don’t actually use this app, but I know some people will and therefore it is important to help bring it to Windows Phone!

Also, tweet them (@scoutmob) while you’re at it!

Pandora has failed to deliver a Windows Phone app. Tell them we need one! Slacker Radio and iHeart Radio aren’t good enough substitutes, we want the actual Pandora.
